Theo-Logic, Volume 3: The Spirit of the Truth is unavailable, but you can change that!

The final volume of the Theo-Logic focuses on the work of the Holy Spirit. Though Balthasar devotes some thought to the relations within the Trinity and to the problem of the filioque, he spends the better part of the volume presenting his ideas of the objective and subjective aspects of the Spirit’s person and work.

“Spirit of holiness” to come down anew upon the Church and her members. Just as no one can give himself any ecclesiastical office and no one can take a sacrament for himself, the Church’s unity is ultimately not created by men—however much they ought to be at pains to preserve it—but by the objective Holy Spirit, who, as Holy Spirit, is always the self-surrender of the Church’s Lord, who has become pneumatic. This is why the Church is clearly more than the sum of the empirical local and partial Churches;
